Static electricity generated during the gravure printing process is a significant factor affecting print quality, and excessive static can even cause sparks, leading to fires. In the plastic and paper industries, the TR-1 anti-static brush has always been a preferred product for removing static electricity due to its ease of installation, low cost, and effective static elimination. The anti-static fibers themselves can remove electric charges through corona discharge and contact discharge, thereby reducing some static electricity. Additionally, the brush’s excellent conductivity and stable physical and chemical properties greatly enhance its application for static elimination in the plastic and paper industries.

1. Characteristics of Anti-Static Brushes

  1. Conductivity: The TR-1 static brush has a resistance of R ≤ 1Ω for a length of 1 meter, making it 20 to 100 times more conductive than carbon fiber. Its conductivity closely resembles that of a conductor.
  2. Softness: With a fabric-like softness, the brush will not scratch the materials it contacts and can effectively and promptly remove static electricity.
  3. Corrosion Resistance: The brush itself is resistant to acid, alkali, oxidation, high temperatures, and low temperatures.
  4. Fire Resistance: It is fireproof, and its properties remain unchanged even after being exposed to flames. Dust on the electrode tips can be removed by burning, allowing for long-term use afterward.
  5. No Power Consumption: It is non-electrically powered, poses no risk of electric shock, emits no harmful radiation, and does not pollute the environment.

2. Application of Anti-Static Brushes

Generally, it is necessary to install an anti-static brush on both the front and back sides of the printed material, rather than only on one side. The optimal setup is to install one brush at both ends of the machine’s winding and unwinding sections, on both the front and back, to achieve the best results.

  1. Suitable for various medium- to high-speed printing machines, slitting machines, bag-making machines, laminating machines, and other packaging machinery.
  2. Applied in film machines, film slitting brushes, currency counting machines, ATMs, fax machines, copiers, printers, and other equipment for dust removal and static elimination.
  3. Also applicable for other equipment that requires static elimination.
